Have you seen the new notes feature now live on Doxmart?
You can make notes on most pages you look at on Doxmart so you can keep track of what interests you and why. So if a document is of interest to you and you want to come back to it in the future just go to ‘My Notes’ in the right menu and type in why you might want to look at it again. Or if there’s another member who you think you might wish to connect with or contact in the future use the notes space to keep a record of this.
When you review your notes you get a list of what you have entered with a link to that page so you can quickly and easily find the things you want. Doxmart is the only site of this kind that give you this service.
We are constantly enhancing the site based on member feedback to improve our service to you. Keep a look out this week as new features are added which show you the up to date activity of members in your network.

The document we have chosen to feature this week is ‘Easy Vegetable Salads‘ by ‘lindakb‘.

Easy Vegetable Salads
A few words from the author:
“All the salads in this book have been tried and tested – they are the ones I am asked to bring to the friends BBQ or make when having dinner guests. Even children that do not usually like vegetables will sometimes find many of these salads too tempting to ignore. Surprise your friends by what you can achieve and you don’t have to tell them how easy it was.”
With several purchases, a 100% feedback rating, and a very modest price, we feel this is one document you do not want to miss!

If you’re a keen web-developer and tend to do a lot of testing in Firefox, you will have probably come across the problem of not noticing broken images, as Firefox will not render anything if the image cannot be found.
The one thing I certainly miss from Internet Explorer since migrating to Firefox was the broken image placeholder, or the big red cross. The only reason I personally still use Internet Explorer is purely for testing purposes, to ensure the Doxmart experience is just as good and usable in every common web browser.
To enable this feature in Firefox, the most commonly suggested method seems to be to visit ‘about:config’ in Firefox, and ensure that ‘browser.display.show_image_placeholders’ is set to ‘true’, but in my case this was already enabled and still not showing placeholders.
In order to get these working in my particular environment (Windows Server 2008, Firefox 3.5), i had to navigate to ‘%appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<username>\chrome’, or, if you’re on a domain, it may be found in ‘%appdata%\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<username>\chrome’. In this directory, you should find a file entitled ‘UserContent-example.css’. Rename this file to ‘UserContent.css’ and add the following CSS rule:
/*
* Show image placeholders
*/
@-moz-document url-prefix(http), url-prefix(file) {
img:-moz-broken{
-moz-force-broken-image-icon:1;
width:24px;
height:24px;
}
}
Save this file, and restart Firefox. Any broken images should now show a broken image placeholder, which will enable you to easily identify missing or broken images during development.
There are also several other tweaks for Firefox that can be implemented using CSS, see this article from Mozilla for more information: Customizing Mozilla
%appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profilename\chrome

Did you know that when you answer questions posted by other members you can be awarded Expert Points (XP)? Your total XP is then shown on your profile page for others to see.
This is how it works:
When a member posts a question they decide how many XP points they want to allocate to the question. As others answer the question the member who posted the question can award these XP points based on the answers and how helpful they are.
It’s up the individual how many points they allocate to the question, if they award points each time they get an answer or wait until the time limit for the question is up and then share out the points. They may decide not to award any points or just some depending on the help received.
It’s a simple and effective way to give feedback to contributors. As more members post questions and seek help it will also quickly give others a measure of your expertise.

Another featured document this week is entitled ‘Photographer’s Terms of Business‘ by ContractStore.
These Terms of Business are for use by a photographer who wants to have a document that clearly sets out the terms and conditions on which he or she takes on work for a client. There are 11 main clauses covering the scope of services, fees and expenses, information and approval, standard of care, intellectual property, limits on liability, unavoidable risks, termination and cancellation etc.
Our document includes a Project Form with details of the photography assignment, type of photos, fees etc. to be completed and signed, to evidence the contract. There is a one-page small-print version of the Terms of Business (which can be printed on the back of the Project Form if required) as well as standard A4.

During the July 2006 Lebanon War Hadi Chatila (one of the lead artists in The Vigil) wrote this piece as a reaction to what he was feeling, then during talks with Sara Takieddine, they managed to give it a tune.
Soon after, Ahmad Hamadani was on the arrangement process; then it got recorded; and now its for you to listen:
The Vigil – Birth – Track 11 – Rise (Bonus Track)
Rise…from beneath the ashes…
No words to declare
No words to be heard
In silence I feel the rage
No woes to declare
No woes to be heard
In resonance I leave this cage
Round I see eyes shimmering
Like stars in a dark night
Round I see deception blazing
Like wrongs made right
Round I see destruction overwhelming
Like erosion all in sight
Rise from beneath the ashes
Rise from deep down low
Stand with honor and status
Stand without death row
Rise from beneath the ashes
Clean the dust on you
Clean that pain forever and ever away
[Chorus]
Oh dear land rise in a posture
Defying the fascist notions
Rise (Lebanon rise) with awe and honor
An example for awakening nations
[Chorus] [x2]

Lyrics: Hadi Chatila
